You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Our chaplains and responders provide pastoral, peer, and supportive care. They do not provide medical care, psychiatric treatment, licensed clinical counseling, psychotherapy, or a diagnosis of any condition, and our Services are not a substitute for professional medical or mental health treatment.
  • Our Services are not emergency services. In an emergency, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
  • Building Hope is not a government agency and is not affiliated with OSHA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, or any regulatory authority. Our drug-free workplace training is provided for educational purposes and does not, by itself, establish or certify your organization's compliance with any drug-free workplace, DOT, workers' compensation, or state program requirements.
  • Our training, sessions, reports, and recommendations are provided for informational and supportive purposes and do not constitute legal, medical, or clinical advice or a guarantee of compliance with any law, regulation, or standard.
  • Responsibility for implementing workplace policies, maintaining a safe workplace, responding to incidents, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations remains at all times with you and your organization.
  • A chaplaincy, response, or training engagement reflects conditions and information available at a specific time and does not guarantee the identification of any concern or the prevention of any incident, injury, or loss.

10. Confidentiality of Chaplain Conversations

Conversations between an individual and a Building Hope chaplain are treated as confidential and are not reported back to the individual's employer, except as described in a separate written program agreement or where disclosure is required or permitted by law, including where there is a risk of harm to the individual or others, suspected abuse or neglect, or a valid legal request. Participation in chaplaincy services is voluntary. Employers do not receive individual session content; any reporting to a client organization is limited to aggregate, non-identifying program information.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may include links to or integrations with third-party websites, tools, and platforms that we do not control, including our website platform, course hosting, and security providers. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or Services will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific Service giving rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months preceding the event. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Building Hope and its owners, employees, volunteers, and contractors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to us or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [Franklin County / _______ County], Ohio, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
